About the role

We are seeking a talented Backend API Developer to join our team focusing on our future payroll API. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the API used for our international payroll solution. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of API design, graphql and ruby. Strong computer science background and architecture and design pattern experience in other backend languages such as Java, Python, C++ etc is highly desired. Ideally you have experience in fintech and international payments. If you are passionate about creating scalable and reliable back-end solutions, we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

Understand our existing global payroll system
Design, develop, and maintain our future global payroll API using graphql and ruby
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, designers, and product managers
Write clean and efficient code that meets project requirements and standards
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Implement security and data protection measures
Integrate with third-party services and APIs
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to back-end development
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in web development and implement new techniques where appropriate

Ideal experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in back-end development or related field
Strong expertise in Ruby/ Ruby on Rails and GraphQL
Strong experience in designing, implementing and maintaining a complicated Graphql or REST API from scratch in Ruby.
ideally fintech and payroll specific experience
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with version control systems such as Git
