varden.se is a platform that collects information regarding 18 000 licensed healthcare providers, covering all health categories, in Sweden. Users are able to sort, compare and book care providers on the website. By presenting specific information of the services that each care provider offers, the users can make well-informed decisions about the care they choose for themselves. Reviews on the site further aid users to choose the care provider with the best ratings.

The tech team is remote-first and consists of senior developers from all over Europe, many with over ten years in the field. About the role

We are looking for a DevOps engineer to work on the infrastructure of our customer-facing web site. As part of our growing team you will have significant influence on the choice of libraries, frameworks, architectures etc.

Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and experience working in a Scrum team is a must.

We are comfortable with remote work but there will also be an opportunity to work on-site in Prague if desired. Contract-to-hire possible if interested.

Key responsibilities

As a DevOps engineer you will

  • take ownership of our AWS infrastructure and the CI/CD pipeline
  • improve the existsing IaC solution using Terraform and other tools
  • participate in on going operational activities (deployments, monitoring, reporting and patching)
  • be focused on operational excellence and will work with product/engineering teams to gather and deliver requirements
  • develop DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • work on lowering AWS costs
  • ensure that our solutions are resilient, available, healthy, and performing well.
  • build the infrastructure that allows other software engineers to quickly deploy, run and scale their software in cloud
  • document the above solutions

Ideal experience

Prior experience as a DevOps engineer with good understanding of AWS. AWS certification. Great problem solving skills. Burning interest in technology. Positive, can-do attitude.

Knowledge of C# or TypeScript is beneficial as you then might be able to lend the developer team a hand when needed.
